After-School & Summer Enrichment Programs

YAS core programs provide children ages 7–15 with consistent academic support, social-emotional learning, and creative enrichment. Operating during the school year and summer, these programs offer:

  • Homework completion and targeted tutoring aligned with classroom learning

  • Social-emotional learning activities that build confidence, teamwork, and resilience

  • Creative enrichment, including art, journaling, and team-building activities. Through these programs, students receive individualized support in a safe and structured environment, preparing them for academic success and personal growth.

Mentoring & Family Engagement

YAS emphasizes the importance of strong relationships with both students and families. Our mentorship initiatives include:

  • One-on-one and small group mentoring to foster guidance, encouragement, and goal-setting

  • Regular communication with parents to support students’ academic and social-emotional development

  • Opportunities for families to provide feedback, helping shape program structure and enrichment activities. By building these connections, we ensure children feel supported both inside and outside the classroom.

Community Partnerships & Events

We collaborate with local shelters and community partners, such as the Urban Resource Institute, to strengthen our programs and expand visibility. Our initiatives include:

  • Partnering with shelters to coordinate program logistics and community engagement

  • Participating in local events to raise awareness and connect families to resources

  • Collaborative fundraising and awareness campaigns to enhance program sustainability and support youth in shelters
These partnerships allow YAS to create a broader impact while ensuring children and families have access to essential services and opportunities.
